Who We Are

We are a not-for-profit organization based in Peru providing free and public education teaching English to disadvantaged children and adults in the local community.

50% of the world’s population currently lives below the poverty line, and presently we are collaborating with volunteers to improve the quality of life of some of the poorest people in the world through education.  Recognizing that many members of our community are born into this type of poverty and have very few job opportunities, we decided to broaden the horizons of our community by founding the Horizon School.  Our goal is to provide opportunities to the members of our community using education in order to improve their lives.

We are located in the thriving city of Trujillo, Peru in the city’s poorest district – La Esperanza.  La Esperanza is where most of our work is based.  Because public education is severely lacking here, and the majority of the community cannot afford private schooling by any means.

Currently, we are collaborating with volunteers to achieve our goal – and we need your help to continue building this project and drastically improve the quality of life of some of the poorest people in the world.

With the help of our volunteers, we are able to offer children and adults alike this useful skill for free, and we hope to soon offer lessons in other areas such as computer technology.

Thank you for your interest in our organization!  We hope to hear from you soon.
