English Classes

There is no greater freedom than knowledge. This belief defines the philosophy at Horizon School Peru, which offers English classes completely free of charge to people of all ages. This program helps children, adolescents and adult students improve their English skills, therefore providing them with better job opportunities for the rest of their lives.

We teach English classes at the local primary school (grades 1-6).  We also provide individual classes to students at the Horizon House.

Computer Classes

A project that is currently still underway, which we are working diligently to achieve, is to offer free computer classes using current hardware and software. This service, alongside our English classes, will undoubtedly increase the job opportunities of those who benefit from our organization. There are many people in La Esperanza like Diana Narro, a 19-year-old single mother, who are eager to learn and become skilled workers in order to support not only themselves but their families as well.

We also have long term goals to undertake additional projects that will benefit our community by focusing on the areas where help is needed the most.  These projects include:

Work in an Orphanage

This program is the perfect place for volunteers who are looking for opportunities to share their love and skills with these children in very unfortunate circumstances. You may have the option to teach English classes or other skills to kids who live in an orphanage in Trujillo known as Hogar San Jose.

Work with Street Children

There are many children who have no homes and live in terrible conditions. Our longer term goals include implementing projects which are focused on getting children off the street and providing them with shelter, food, education and general support.
